I still have all of my fingers...yet!
Hello, this website is about what I do for a living and what my hobbies are. I started my career out as a Diesel Technician. I completed my training at Minnesota West Canby Campus. When I attended classes in 1978-1980 the school was known as Canby Area Vocational Technical Institute (CAVTI). I became interested in computers in 1986 and had my first experience on an Apple II GS. Soon after I bought a 8088 XT PC Clone with a 12" monochrome monitor. It had a blinding speed of 4.77 MHz native and 10 MHz when you hit the turbo button. It had two 5 1/4 floppy drives but they were 1.2 megabyte capacity. I soon upgraded my storage capacity to a 20 megabyte hard drive. I was hired in 1993 by a computer VAR and built computers for four years. After that I started my own business selling and repairing computers from a small store front. I soon found out that it takes more time than I had to put into it. I was contracted by four school districts in my area to assist them with their computer needs so I made the decision to work with just schools along with some local businesses. My phone has quit ringing for the personal end of my computer business except for a few friends, neighbors and relatives. I am servicing three school districts and am quite busy.
In the middle of all this I found that I needed a release from computers and started a woodworking hobby. When my first grandchild was born I was asked by my wife to build a crib for the new baby. After four cribs I have enough power tools to continue on with other woodworking projects.
